Job description:
The Underground Experimental Physics Group at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position to work on Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO).
JUNO aims to probe the neutrino mass ordering with a sensitivity of 3-4 sigma after 6 years of data taking starting 2023. SJTU is a major research university and an active member of the JUNO collaboration.
The successful candidate is expected to play a key role in the detector calibration of JUNO, including both hardware and software, and make significant contributions to the physics analysis using the first JUNO data. The initial appointment is for two years, and renewable assuming satisfactory performance. The successful candidate is also eligible to apply for national funding and fellowship to supplement the research.
The candidate should have a PhD in experimental particle physics, or a closely related discipline. Experiences in hardware, simulation, and data analysis are preferred.
